We’re looking for an  intern to work with us one day every week and help us out with all things graphics and social media. An ideal fit for us would be someone who naturally incorporates aspects of social media into their current daily life, and is passionate about youth and education. 

What will the intern be doing?
The roles are many and varied, but they include the following:
  • Creating education based Motivational Mondays quote graphics
  •  Increasing content on our website 
  • Working on our quarterly e-newsletter
  •  Conducting research and developing topic ideas for blog posts
  •  Posting timely and relevant content to social media channels 
  • Helping us stay in touch via blogging, e-mail campaigns, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and snail mail (who doesn't love something in the mailbox these days?!)
  • Moderate social media profiles and respond to friends/followers comments and questions
  • Identify and connect with key influences and fans to amplify the reach of Visão's message
  • Research stories and hot topics on education in Africa
  • Brainstorm with team to one up with creative campaigns and strategies to increase engagement across digital communities

Qualifications:
  • Passionate about youth and education in Africa
  • Friendly and conversational
  • Must be a good writer, team player and technologically savvy
  • Fast learner
  • Be well-versed in all major social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, Google+, and Instagram
  • Be CREATIVE and propose ideas that are unique, innovative and inspire action
  • Organized and pays strong attention to detail

Other requirements – We would love for this intern to:
  • Understand and embrace the message of The Visão Foundation
  • Have your own machine (laptop or desktop) and Adobe Software (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator at the very least)
  • Have a keen eye for detail and be open to feedback
  • Be willing to work under creative direction and in a team environment
  • Be responsible: take initiative and work independently

  • Send us some examples of your work – doesn’t not have to be a big portfolio: just any designs, illustrations etc that you’ve done for volunteer work or in your spare time
  • If we like what we see, we’d be keen to setup an informal interview!
