This past Valentine's Day weekend our amazing Junior Advisory Board/Peer Mentors organized a "Love Market" to sell handmade bracelets to help raise funds to support their upcoming community service projects. We must say it was really wonderful to see them working together as a team and utilizing the knowledge they have gained from their years at Camp Visão. For weeks they worked tirelessly cutting, attaching and boxing bracelets to help obtain as much support as possible.
Not only are these young people generous and hardworking ,they are also extremely ambitious. They set a goal to make 100 bracelets which we can proudly say they indeed met. Each bracelet sold for a paltry Le30,000/$5. To help reach their goal, they partnered with a local floral business - Awuna Floral Designs to offer the bracelets with each Valentine's Day floral arrangement sold on February 13th, and also with a local women's empowerment organization - Zonta International Club of Freetown. To help extend their reach, they setup their "Love Market" Pop-Up at Zonta's Valentine's Luncheon on February 14th. Although they did not reach their expected goal, they got pretty close. Great job guys!
Our thanks to Awuna Floral Designs and Zonta International Club of Freetown for all their kindness and support and to everyone who supported and purchased a bracelet. If you would like to purchase a bracelet and help them meet their goal, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
