Camp Visão is an academic and social enrichment program for underserved youth ages 11-18 years old. Our program was established to address the precipitous decline in the educational standards in Sierra Leone. Many students are far below their grade standard, and unfortunately are not receiving adequate instruction and support to bring them up to speed.
At Camp Visão we provide an opportunity for school going youth to receive the support they deserve to accelerate their success and achieve a brighter future. Our program provides students with expert academic support and encouragement as well as a positive and fulfilling traditional camp experience that is completely FREE-OF-COST. We provides exciting and unique learning opportunities to allow young people to explore, grow, and discover new areas of interest. The combination of academic and recreational activities gives participants a true sense of accomplishment and confidence that they can carry throughout the year and in life. |

Camp Visão is located in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Students from six underserved schools are invited biennially to compete in an essay competition, and from that 30 students are invited to attend our program. The morning section of our program is entirely academic in nature; with a focus on subjects areas such as reading, writing, spelling & vocabulary etc. Daily drills and written work are stressed while instilling participant with motivation, positive attitude, organization, study skills, social growth, confidence and self-esteem. The rest of the day is spent enjoying many traditional summer camp activities such as arts and crafts, games, occasional trips to regional attractions and destinations etc. As a requirement, all participants must complete a small community service project throughout the year.

Because our camp is run during school holidays, participants have an opportunity to attend our full range of classes and workshops. During the school year other commitments can often prevent this from happening.
Other benefits include:
1. Group bonding 2. Overcoming challenges 3. Gained confidence 4. Positive interaction with adults in an informal session |
